Roll To Me – Del Amitri

“Roll To Me” – Del Amitri (Twisted, A & M Records, 1995). Written by Justin Curry.

INTERESTING FACTS (from wikipedia)

– This song reached the Top 10 in the Billboard’s Hot 100.

– The track was less successful in their native UK, reaching No. 22.

– The band does not consider the song one of their best, and have often seemed irked by the fact that what they see as a throwaway pop song gave them their biggest hit.

Twisted is the fourth studio album by Del Amitri.

– It was the last album to feature guitarist David Cummings, who left to begin a successful career in TV scriptwriting, and the only to feature drummer Chris Sharrock, who agreed to play on Twisted but declined to join the band as a permanent member.

MY TAKE

Vintage! I love this song! I love how it fills the opening scene of Free Willy with joy and youth. I loved it on the radio this morning, and, yes, I could still sing all of the harmonies (while I was singing I thought about the absolute fact that this song should be done by an a cappella group/ Glee…it would be AWESOME!).

By the way, this is Day #2 of 1990’s week.

I can do better. You’ll see. One day.]
