– “If A Song Could Get Me You” is Norwegian singer-songwriter Marit Larsen’s first international single.
– In Norway the single entered the chart at #1 and stayed there for two consecutive weeks. In Germany it entered at #15, rose to #3 the next week and in the third week it was #1. It stayed there for five consecutive weeks. The song charted at #32 in its first week in Austria and in the fourth week, it became #1. After one week, it was beaten by “I Gotta Feeling” by Black Eyed Peas. Then, it returned to its peak position and held it for three more weeks. In Switzerland, it held the #2 spot for one week, only beaten by “I Gotta Feeling” by Black Eyed Peas.
– The Chase is the second album from Norwegian singer-songwriter Marit Larsen, and was released on October 13th, 2008. The first single of this album entitled “If a Song Could Get Me You” was made available via Marit Larsen’s Myspace page on August 11, 2008.
– Marit Elisabeth Larsen (born on July 1, 1983) is a Norwegian singer and songwriter who gained international fame during her teenage years as a member of the pop duo M2M with childhood friend Marion Raven.
– Recognizable as the lighter-haired of the two musicians of M2M, Larsen played the guitar, while Raven played the piano, and did half of the vocals and songwriting.
– After touring the world and producing two albums with hits such as “Don’t Say You Love Me”, “Mirror Mirror”, and “Everything”, M2M was dropped by Atlantic Records in September 2002.
– After the breakup of M2M, Raven set off on her own solo career, while Larsen took time off to go to school.
– In late 2006 and early 2007, her album Under the Surface won Larsen accolades, including the award for Best Norwegian Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards, the Spellemannprisen (Norwegian Grammy) awards for Best Female Artist and Best Video (“Don’t Save Me”), and double platinum status.
