I love when the minds that make television take time to remember the great power of the soundtrack. A good soundtrack can make a bad show palatable (NBC’s Chuck), and a great show perfect (NBC’s Mercy). ABC’s new cop drama Detroit 1-8-7 is, of course, going to make it to my desk just because I lived in Metro Detroit for over 15 years. But it’ll stay on my calendar every week because that pilot episode’s soundtrack was sick. {Dad’s betting that Kid Rock and Jack White will both be featured by the end of this season…I’m adding Eminem to the list.}
