INTERESTING FACTS (from wikipedia)

– The song most notably appears on the soundtrack to the 1994 film Dumb and Dumber.

– The song peaked at #27 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, and remains the group’s most well-known song.

-The song is their only hit, hence their one-hit wonder status.

Deadeye Dick is an American alternative rock trio that was formed in New Orleans, Louisiana, and was around only from 1991 to 1996.

– The band took their name from a Kurt Vonnegut novel.

– They self-produced their first album even though they still had not landed a record deal. A song titled “New Age Girl” off of this self-published record became popular regionally and earned airplay in New Orleans and Atlanta. After receiving this airplay, the band landed a record deal with the independent label Ichiban Records.

– The publicity from the film caused the song to become a national hit, peaking at #27 on the Billboard Hot 100 in March, 1995

Continuing on the 1990’s Week theme [which has increasingly felt restricting–I’m not I will do a theme week again for awhile, I feel restricted] here is one of the classic soundtrack songs from a classic ’90’s one hit wonder band. Please, who hasn’t seen this movie!?
